The Female Academics Global Network Association (FAGNA®) is delighted to welcome Professor Babatunde J. Abiodun, Professor of Climate Science at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, to our expanding International Board of Advisors.

Professor Abiodun is an internationally recognised climate scientist whose distinguished career includes contributions as a Lead Author to the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report and the UN Environment Programme’s Sixth Global Environment Outlook, and leadership in major international research collaborations.

His appointment is particularly meaningful to FAGNA® because his contributions extend beyond scientific excellence. Through supervising and mentoring dozens of female masters, doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from countries including India, South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Nigeria, he has contributed to developing the next generation of women scholars.

We believe his combination of scientific leadership, international research experience and commitment to academic mentorship will strengthen FAGNA®’s mission to connect, empower and advance female academics across countries, disciplines and career stages.

His insights will be valuable as we pursue international research collaboration, strengthen academic development and leadership, expand interdisciplinary networks, and create opportunities for women scholars to make greater contributions to global knowledge and sustainable development.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Professor Babatunde J. Abiodun to the FAGNA® international advisory community!
